33 Down, 160 to Go!

Today I finally made it to Honduras, which, after visiting El Salvador earlier this week is my final country to visit in North America. The first leg of Expedition 360 West is now complete! In North America I've been to Greenland, Canada, USA, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, and now El Salvador and Honduras! Here's the map to date :)

I'm Back!

Visit my GoFundMe page at: https://www.gofundme.com/expedition360west

My travels thus far have been almost 100% self funded, which makes it necessary for me to spend more time trying to pay for the expedition than going on it. Outside financial support, be it individual donations or a strategic partnership with a business or organization will enable me to focus on sharing the expedition with you!

Please visit my GoFundMe page, share it with your friends, family and coworkers, and consider making a donation. Even $1 helps!

EVERY DONOR WILL GET THE CHANCE TO JOIN A PART OF THE EXPEDITION. ONE LUCKY PERSON WILL JOIN ME TO SAIL ACROSS THE OCEANS AND VENTURE BEYOND THE ORDINARY.

Thanks for your incredible support!

From my FB page:

So today I rode for like 3 hours in a van with a Guatemalan man who 15 years ago swam across the Rio Grande to get to the USA. He worked many different jobs for 12 years - only being able to talk to his family via phone or the internet. This guy demanded to buy me mangoes, offered to let me stay in his home, and wouldn't let me go without making sure I had gotten through the dangerous parts of Guatemala City safely. If you think people like this are part of Hezbollah or are taking advantage of the USA sorry but you are an idiot.

Not too shabby south of the wall...(plus Rainier)

On the Way to Country #32!

I'm writing this post from Tapachula, Mexico, just west of the Guatemalan border, and a city that has been on the world map recently due to the "caravans" of migrants who pass through here on their way north toward the USA. It's a typical border town - most country's more charming destinations are not the communities on their borders - and I should be on my way tomorrow on a southbound bus to Guatemala City. A short stay there and I will be headed onward - to my first two new countries this year - El Salvador and Honduras!

Both are also hotspots and well known for high crime rates, but they are also home to the gorgeous rainforest, volcanoes, beaches, and of course Mayan ruins. I shall see for myself shortly just how beautiful - and dangerous - these countries are. And I'll be sure to let you know!

Here are some more pics from recent travels:
